To all my single homies,
As February approaches so does the dreaded holiday that reminds each of us that we're alone. And while most people dream about a life with Mr. Right (or Mrs.), there is much more to life than falling in
love with someone. So I challenge each of you to take these moment's of solidarity and view them as a possitive and productive experience.
While our friends make reservations at 5 star restaurants and purchase oversized teddy bears, we sit back reminising on our past fling or wishing for one to happen. But, what if we didn't? I mean, of course everyone wants someone to snuggle up to at night. But why rush? At 23, my social media feed is full of engagement and baby announcements, and I can't help but think "hell no!".
Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing anyone who pursues that lifestyle, in fact I eventually want it for myself. I'm just personally no where near that transition. In many ways I feel like my life is just beginning and I couldn't imagine settling down or starting a family.
The point I'm trying to make is... although this month may leave us feeling lonely, the beauty behind solidarity is YOU! The opportunities available to you are endless and instead of daydreaming about "the one", explore who you truly are and the beauty you hold within.
